Jack and Kim went to high school together. Kim became a Christian just after graduating and then led Jack to Christ during his senior year in 1991. They went to Georgia Southern University where mature Christians instructed them in personal Bible study, prayer, fellowship and evangelism. It was during college that they first had the opportunity to minister to college students in Bangkok, Thailand during the Summer of 1994.

After graduation, Jack began a Campus Outreach ministry to college students in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kim went back to Bangkok to teach third grade at an international Christian school. Jack and Kim married in 1998 and lived in Charlotte, where Jack began working as a missions intern at Christ Covenant Church (PCA). In August 2000 they arrived in Thailand as MTW/Impact missionaries.

Ministry Update

Jack and Kim currently help direct the university ministry in Bangkok. Since reaching Bangkok, they have both been in language school five days a week. They meet regularly with the rest of the team for fellowship, worship, and team training. They are also helping the team cultivate relationships with churches, ministries, and Thai non-Christians, as well as investigating university ministry options.

Jack and Kim plan to return to the states in August 2002 for one year. During this time they will transition to career missionaries, take seminary courses, and raise additional support.

Praises

Praise God for the healthy birth of Anna Gracyn in July. Gracyn and mom are doing great! Jack’s sister, Lisa, was able to join them in Thailand to help with the baby, as well as help the team with many areas of ministry. Praise God for the good time and great teamwork with the Intown PCA church two-week missions trip this summer. God truly opened many doors to ministry through them.

Jack and Kim give thanks for the specific gifts He has given theft team members, and for good relationships with other evangelical churches in the area. Praise God for His provision for the opening of the Urban Training and Development Center, and for over 20 students enrolled in their first conversational English classes.

Pray for Their Ministry

Please pray God will raise up some long-term missionaries from the Intown PCA team that worked in Thailand this summer. Pray for God’s leading of Jack as he begins surveying universities for potential ministry and begins teaching some English classes. Pray for Kim that she can develop a ministry with the Thai mothers that live in their complex.

Pray for Them

Pray for Jack, Kim and Gracyn as they get to know each other. Pray also for Gracyn’s continued good health. Pray for increased strength and for restful nights of sleep for the Cunningham’s. Pray for growth in their passion for and delight in the Lord.
