Young was Associate Pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia, and then a professor at Chongshin University Graduate School. He has been a professor at Hapdong Theological Seminary in Suwon, Korea since 1980.

Ministry Update Young is currently teaching courses at Hapdong Theological Seminary in Pauline Theology, Exposition of the Four Gospels, and Biblical Hermeneutics.

He believes in the importance of interpersonal relationships, so Young allows much time to meet people. In the midst of his busy schedule, he has published a book in English called Redemption and Newness of Life, which contains 30 sermons he preached at Grace Presbyterian Church 30 years ago. The book is designed to help pastors, evangelists, and students in the third world. He is also preparing a Korean New Testament Canon for publication.

Hapdong Seminary has 260 students. It emphasizes missions, and many graduates are serving as missionaries in many different countries.

Praises

Young and Soon praise the Lord that He is molding theft children by His grace to be His vessels. Irene serves a church diligently in youth group, and is in graduate school at Ohio State University. Sarah is a senior and Paul a junior this year, also at Ohio State. The Parks are thankful that their children are growing in the Lord. Praise God for maintaining the Park family’s good health.

Pray for Their Ministry

Currently Hapdong Seminary is campaigning for an expansion of the entrance path. This is a $400,000 campaign. Pray that Korean churches asked to help would respond favorably. Pray that the Lord would give wisdom to Soon as he carries out the responsibilities of seminary president.

Pray for Those They Serve

Korea has had severe drought followed by a period of excessive rainfall, and the people are concerned about possible flooding. Pray that the Lord would give grace to the Korean people. Pray for economic growth and political stability. Pray that the Lord would bring the two Koreas closer, and that they would be united in the near future so that the Gospel might be preached in the northern area.

Pray for Them

Please pray for continued good health for Young and Soon. Pray that the Lord would give wisdom to Young to prioritize matters before him. Pray that they would adjust to the absence of theft children, and that the Lord would keep them in His care at college.
