Ministry Background
Andy and Sue have been serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators since 1987, spending theft first term at the computer office of JAARS in North Carolina, and then in Lima, Peru since 1992.
Ministry Update The Pecks moved to Orlando, Florida in August 2001 to work in Wycliffe’s home office for the next two years. They will be visiting their supporting churches and sharing about their time in Peru, and then will begin a new assignment in the Wycliffe office. Andy will be working in the Management Information Systems department as the programming manager. Sue hopes to contribute either in the special projects area, or in finance.
Praises
The Pecks’ oldest child, Ashley, graduated from high school in Peru in June. They are thankful that she has done very well in high school, been a part of the National Honor Society, and has been accepted with honors to Taylor University for the 2001-2002 school year. Andy and Sue have been blessed by the past nine years in Peru, and look forward to the Lord’s blessings for the future.
Pray for Their Ministry
Please pray for opportunities for Andy and Sue to share theft ministry and work with existing and new partners. New Testaments are due to be ready for printing in the next few years in five Quechua languages, spoken in the mountains of Peru by descendants of the Incas. Pray for the translators and national co-translators, that the Lord would give them wisdom and keep them strong. Pray that the printing process would go smoothly. Pray that the New Testaments would arrive in Peru quickly, with few obstacles to getting them through customs and to the people. Pray for the Pecks’ future work in Orlando, that the Lord would help them learn theft new tasks quickly and effectively.
Pray for Those They Serve
Peru has gone through political chaos with a recent presidential election. Pray for the new president who took office in July 2001, that he would be open to the Lord’s guidance. Pray for the Peruvian people and the evangelical church to experience revival and commitment to the Word of God.
Pray for Them
Please pray for the Peck family as they adjust to life in the States, and for a time of rest and refreshment after the hectic days of leaving Peru. Pray for the Lord to raise up prayer and financial partners so that they can begin working in Orlando by the beginning of 2002. Pray for Ashley’s adjustment to college, that she would not be too homesick. Pray for AJ’s adjustment to public school, and for a good year of home schooling for Amy. Pray for godly new friends for each of the children.
