Roger and Dianne have been missionaries for 35 years in Europe and Latin America. They met in Europe in 1971, when Roger was a missionary in France and Dianne was a Bible courier behind the Iron Curtain. They have been involved in church planting ministries in Guatemala, Mexico and Ecuador. The Smallings joined Mission to the World in 1991 as part of a team which helped establish a national presbytery in Ecuador. Their ministry focus is preparing Latin American nationals for Reformed Christian leadership.

Ministry Update

Roger and Dianne are using Miami as a base for their traveling throughout Latin America. They will be involved in establishing training centers in various Latin American countries. Ministry trips to Honduras, Costa Rica and Mexico are planned in the fall of 2001.

Roger has written a Spanish book on the five points of Calvinism and the doctrines of grace for Spanish readers. !Si JESUS! Una Introducción A Las Doctrinas De La Gracia can be used as a textbook for Spanish Bible study groups, Sunday School classes or for personal study on the doctrine of salvation. It is being used by Spanish speaking students in Bible colleges and seminaries in Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Chile and Miami.

Praises

Roger has completed the book UNLOCKING GRACE and is now available.
The Lord is opening doors for the establishment of training centers in Mexico and Ecuador.

Please pray that God would enable Roger and Dianne to establish training centers in more Latin American countries. Pray for the success of Roger’s book, !Si JESUS!, both the English and Spanish versions. Pray for good attendance at the courses Roger and Dianne are teaching on Grace in English and Spanish in two Miami churches.

Please pray for stamina and protection for Roger and Dianne in theft frequent travels. Pray for continued open doors in the Miami area for teaching sound doctrine in Spanish and English.
