Ministry Update

The purpose of each Agape Puppets presentation is to share basic Christian truths in a simple, easy to understand way. The goal of each presentation is to evangelize the lost for Christ and to encourage and train believers in their Christian walk. While they desire for their presentations to pleasurable and entertaining, they will not make any presentation where the main goal appears to be the entertainment of a particular group or where the claims of Christ and the Gospel will not be allowed to be shared.

Mike and Linda visited the Yucatan in Mexico in February 2002. They trained others in puppet ministry at the Seminary on Child Evangelism. They presented the Gospel in parks, churches and villages, using chalk talks and puppet shows. God opened the door for a program in a youth prison, where young men listened eagerly when they were told that there was hope in Christ.

In March the Agape Puppets ministered in Zihuatenejo, Mexico with a group of young people from Covenant College. A new puppet ministry was planted there. The team traveled to South Africa in June, where they told children about Christ in public schools, churches and squatter camps.

The summer ministry of the Agape Puppets included five days of street ministry in inner-city Atlanta. They also participated in the PEF Family Evangelism Conference in Florence, Alabama.

Linda and the Agape Puppets spent three weeks in Ukraine in September doing programs in many schools, orphanages and churches.

Praises

The Summers praise God for all they have seen him do in Africa, Mexico and Ukraine this year. The Lord gave them wonderful teams for each trip, and many miles of safe travel. They rejoice in the children and adults they have seen come to Christ.

Pray for Their Ministry

There is no Gospel influence in many of the places the Agape Puppets go, and they have the privilege of standing in these dark places with the light of Jesus. Please ask the Lord to give Mike and Linda and their puppet team strength, deep faith, and joy. Pray that they would keep their eyes on Jesus. Pray for the children who hear the good news of Jesus through this ministry, that they might know him as their Savior. Pray for continued financial provision and traveling mercies.

Please pray for stamina and good health for Linda and Mike. Pray that Linda’s asthma would improve and would not limit her activities.
