Hello,This is your new part time youth interim, Jonathan Jackson, speaking from this month’s newsletter. Many of you know me, but a few I’m sure do not. Here’s the short and sweet version of my past ministry. I’ve been in ministry to youth for the last 14 years of my life. I’ve done quarter-time/part-time/full-time/any-time youth ministry in three different churches, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Huntsville, AL, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Johnson City, TN, and for the last two years I’ve been working with the youth group here at Midway. I am very excited about the youth of MPC. The church has a bunch of very smart and talented young people who have strong hearts for the Lord. I am very excited about what the youth group of MPC is about. We have a lot of fun and fellowship together, while at the same time we dive into the wonderfully deep truths of our God and Father. My focus and goal over my time as interim is to continue the well rounded program that was developed by Rev. Greg Doty. We will continue to have Sunday morning classes for both our Middle School (MS) and High School (HS) groups. Also our D-Ship (discipleship) ministry will continue on Sunday evenings both before and after church. Starting in September we will begin our MPC large group meetings on Wednesdays. Retreats will be held for both MS and HS in the fall and spring. This year we will continue to have both Decaf house and Coffee house for both MS and HS age groups. Also we will be attending RYM again next summer. Over the next year, our MPC youth will be studying through the books of Proverbs and Romans, as well as, studying I Corinthians 13. I would encourage ALL to pray for the youth of this church. They are the future leadership within Midway and other churches. Please pray that their hearts would be willing to learn, that they would be ready to serve and that they will hear God when He calls them to do His work. That they would live by faith alone and completely surrender to the will of God in there lives. In His Service,
