Rev. Kevin Bidwell is a church planter and pastor of Sheffield Presbyterian Church, part of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in England and Wales (EPCEW). Sheffield is the fifth biggest city in the UK and there are around 1.4 million people in greater Sheffield. There are a number of large cities nearby which means that within 90 minutes’ drive of the church, there are around 7 million people and there was no Presbyterian church there until Sheffield Presbyterian was planted. In 2010, a church planting Bible study began and in April 2011 the church was formally constituted with 11 members. The church two services on the Lord’s Day and a Sunday school for adults and children. The church has seen new converts as well as spiritual and numerical growth. The main aim now is for the Lord’s help for particularization in the medium term, for the Lord to raise up elders and deacons, for new families to join, and for continued growth. The church is already working on planting other churches, including assisting in a monthly Bible study in Berlin, Germany. They are also working long term to plant another church in Leeds, Yorkshire which has 1.7 million in greater Leeds.
